commemorate service in the North Africa 
campaign. 
Awarded for operations against Italian forces 
and the German Afrika Korps under General 
Rommel, this campaign star represents one of 
the most iconic theaters of the Second World 
War.
The 8th Army clasp was awarded to those 
who served with the 8th Army between 23 Oct. 
1942 and 12 May 1943 (2nd Battle of El Alamein, 
capitulation of the German forces in Africa).
