showing soldiers of the Großherzoglich 
Mecklenburgisches Grenadier-Regiment Nr. 89. 
(89th Grenadier-Regiment of Mecklenburg) 
Standing at far right is a Lieutenant decorated 
with the ribbon bar of the Iron Cross and the 
Mecklemburg-Schwerin Military Cross 2nd 
Class. 
Seated next to him is a Staff Sergent decorated 
with the Mecklemburg-Schwerin Military Cross 
1st Class. 
Seated on the far left is a Staff Sergent Major. 
The other men are junior NCOs. All men are 
decorated with Iron Cross ribbons. 
The enlisted men wear field-grey M1910 uniforms 
with the crowned “FF” cipher on their shoulder 
straps.
