Italy WW2 Medal of the 3rd Regiment of Sardinian Grenadiers for the Greco-Italian War 1940 1941 by Boeri

Italy: Original WW2 Commemorative Medal awarded 
to the 3rd Regiment of the Sardinian Grenadiers, 
Italian Royal Army, for their role in the Greek 
Campaign (28 Oct. 1940 - 3 May 1941). 
The reverse of the medal features the key battles in 
which the regiment participated. 
A scarce and historically rich piece, maker marked 
Boeri, Roma. 
The 3rd Regiment of the Sardinian Grenadiers 
arrived in Albania in 1939 where it was renamed 
to "3rd Grenadiers Regiment of Sardinia and 
Albania". 
It participated in the campaign against Greece 
and after some minor initial advance it was 
pushed back deep into Albania, by the Greek 
Royal Army, together with the rest of the Italian
 units. 
Despite this fact, it was one of the best Italian 
Regiments in the Campaign and it was awarded
 the Gold Medal for Bravery by Mussolini.
