Features King Frederik VII - Danish Monarch at the
time of the War.
Signed by Alphee Dubois.
The 1st Schleswig War ended with Danish victory 
ratified by the London Protocol of 1852.
The medal was instituted in 1875 by King 
Christian IX and was awarded in 1877 to all still 
living veterans of the War. 
A total of 46000 medals were distributed - all 
struck in Paris.
