Civil Merit. 
This 1st type example is signed by Karl 
Schwenzer of the Stuttgart Royal Mint. 
The medal was instituted in this form in 1892 
and was awarded throughout the reign of King 
Wilhelm II. It was discontinued after the end 
of WW1. 
Awarded for distinguished civil and loyal service 
within the Kingdom of Württemberg, with only 
10717 pieces issued.
