ITALY: WW2 Commemorative Medal for the 
Albanian Campaign (7–16 April 1939). 
Rare, unmarked Type “A” version of the medal, 
awarded to military and civilian participants in 
the swift Italian occupation of Albania. 
The campaign lasted just 9 days with minimal 
resistance, leading to the exile of King Zog I 
and Albania’s annexation into the Italian 
Empire.
Instituted in 1940, the medal bears the 
Roman number “XVII,” marking the 17th 
year of Fascist rule.
