ITALY: WW2 Commemorative Military Medal for 
the Albanian Campaign (7–16 April 1939).
Rare and desirable Type "A" version of the medal, 
awarded to military and civilian participants in the 
swift Italian occupation of Albania. 
Instituted in 1940, the medal features the 
inscription "XVII", marking the 17th year of 
Fascist rule. 
The nine-day campaign resulted in the exile of 
King Zog I and Albania's integration into the 
Italian Empire under a personal union with the 
Italian Crown. 
A historically significant and collectible piece 
from the early years of WW2.
